More from Today

The trees have been strimmed round and a total weedkiller applied so we can save time strimming and don't have to cut so close and catch the trees. The weedkiller should last between 4-6 weeks

Today's Work

Another busy day today, We've even had Tony Marshall cutting the rough this morning, work is going into the winter greens, readying them for use
Tony Marshall, greens chairman cutting the rough on the 13th, he lost a ball in there at the weekend and is determined to find it!

Practice Green

Peter cutting the practice green in front of the clubhouse by hand, we are cutting the greens to 4mm at the moment but may reduce the cut further. The greens were checked with the stimpmeter yesterday and are running at 8...

Work ongoing

A few more pics of what's going on on the course, The bare patch next to the winter tee on the 6th hole has been re-seeded (cheaper than turf!) and roped off to protect it

Because of the wet weather we haven't been able to get in and cut the grass as often as we would have liked on the 6th fairway so, when it was cut there were a lot of grass clippings left, here is Julian picking the clippings up
And, even after all the rain we've had recently   Mark is having to water the greens by hand!

Damage to rakes

Unfortunately we have a spate of vandalism on the 3rd, with the rakes being snapped, if anyone sees any people on the course who shouldn't be there, please let the office know.

This week

AS some of you will be aware some horses escaped from one of our neighbours last weekend and caused some damage, here are a couple of pictures on the greens and a picture of the culprits being led away...
Some of the hoof damage on the 16th green...

...and on the 3rd green

They were caught eventually and led away to be turned into glue!!
